Q. Is electrolysis permanent hair removal?
A. Yes, it is the only recognised form of permanent hair removal.
Q. How many sessions will I need?
A. Everyone is different but you will need repeat treatments every time the hair grows back until they stop growing back. We don't know is the honest answer, some people can be hair free within a year, others it can take several years.
Q. How long will each treatment take?
A. This depends on how many hairs need to be treated. Some people may only have a few problem hairs, some people may have a lot. As time goes by during your treatment plan, there will be fewer hairs so your treatment length will reduce over time.
Q. How often will I need treatment?
A. Everybody's hair grows at different rates. It may be necessary for you to attend weekly initially, but if your hair hasn't grown back by then it may be that you return in 2, 3, or 4 weeks. Sometimes it may be even longer between treatments.
Q. I have blonde hair, are you able to treat me?
A. Yes, the colour of the hair doesn't matter when it comes to electrolysis. We treat each individual hair using a very fine probe. This looks a little like a needle and heat is applied within the hair follicle. We treat the follicle rather than the hair to prevent further hair growth.
Q. Why does the hair grow back even though I had one session of electrolysis?
A. Hair has a cycle of growth. We need to treat the hair in the Anagen phase, this is when it still has a blood supply. It is impossible to know what stage of growth your hairs are in so repeated treatments are the only way to stop regrowth. There are also many different factors that cause problem hair growth, we may be fighting against hormonal disorders and other conditions.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. This is subjective. Some of our clients barely feel any discomfort, others need a bit of extra care during treatment. Some clients apply a numbing cream prior to their appointment and they find this helps. We have cold compresses available, and some squashies for those who feel a little more anxious.
Q. Do you offer courses of electrolysis?
A. We can not offer course prices for electrolysis. This is because we don't offer the treatment by area but by time. Your time needed will reduce as we start to see results. Everyone is different so we don't know when this will be.
Laser Hair Removal
Q. Is laser hair removal permanent?
A. Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, rather than permanent hair removal. Having a course of laser treatments can reduce the hair regrowth by up to *80-90%. Over time, hair may begin to grow back and you will need a 'top-up'. *results may vary.
Q. How many sessions will I need?
A. Usually 6-8 sessions will see good results. It may be necessary to to have a few additional treatments, this is an individual thing and everyone is different. We will advise you on the best course for you and your budget.
Q. How often will I need a top-up?
A. Top-ups can be once or twice a year, or it could be once every 2 years, it depends on each individual.
Q. I have blonde hair, can I have laser?
A. Our Alexandrite and ND Yag Motus Ay laser can treat black hair, dark & light brown hair, unfortunately it does not treat very blonde hair, red hair or white hair.
Q. Do you treat black skin?
A. Yes, our ND Yag laser can treat any skin colour safely and effectively.
Q. Is it painful?
A. We have Moveo technology, the cooled sapphire tip stays in constant contact with the skin and the heat from the laser accumalates underneath the skin. With the constant coolness on the surface of the skin this creates a 'virtually' pain-free effect. Some areas are more senstive than others, top lip for example, and everyone has different senstivities.
Q. I want to have laser but I have a holiday planned, can I still have laser with a tan?
A. You can safely have laser in the summer months by following our pre & aftercare advice. Our Moveo technology is safe to use on skin 4 weeks from sun exposure. Most areas treated need 4-8 week intervals meaning it is possible to plan around holidays.

A. Yes we do offer course discounts on laser courses of 4, 6 & 8 sessions. All individual prices are listed under laser treatments.
